MARS ♂

Mars is genuinely one of my favourite solarballs characters. He's genuinely just a chill extroverted guy that's chill with everything, but when you do something wrong he WILL tell you.

He's literally able to befriend anyone, is super determined and is also pretty loyal.

first part (extra)

Design

I imagine him as a 2000s pop punk guy and I wanted his clothes to kind of reflect that. He often wears (band) T-shirts and khaki shorts. He also likes wearing vans or converse shoes. Alternatively, he can also wear ripped jeans and zip up hoodies. Because of Mars's white poles, this inspired me to make his hair white (as seen by his roots and goatee). I feel like he doesn't like how it looks though so he dyes his hair and eyebrows often.

Ship (VARS)

Yes I'm so normal about vars that I'm dedicating an entire segment to it.

Before we talk about vars (Venus x Mars) I wanna get another ship out of the way; Earth x Mars. Ngl this ship isn't that bad and I definitely see the vision, but vars makes so much sense to me and genuinely means so much to me that I unfortunately only ship that. I see the vision, but in my eyes they're just best friends.

In the beginning I think Mars was the first one who pined on Venus, but everything's just speculation and pure headcanon right now because we haven't seen proto!mars and proto!venus and how they interact.

Mars dislikes Venus sometimes because of things he says, but understands that he is pretty stubborn most of the time and is willing to look past it. I feel that during earth's arc is when their bond really started to get really strong. Sure it was because of their mutual friendship with (and former hatred towards) the earth but they got much closer than they ever could (without earth being directly involved).

I saw on a meme or drawing somewhere that said: Mars (fell first), Venus (fell harder), and it exactly encapsulates my headcanons on this ship.

Misc.

He loves getting drunk with Venus and doing karaoke.

He fucking loves Simple Plan and pop-punk bands alike. Even if he isn't a teenage boy in high school, he likes to insert himself into these songs and use them in his vars fantasies.
